BACKGROUND

The Confederation's Golem series powered armors were regarded by many as the finest infantry combat system ever devised, but ATAC generals found it lacking in many regards. While it was exceptionally fast and allowed infantry to fight side by side with armor while both were moving at high speeds across enemy terrain, Golem-equipped units simply lacked the heavy assault capabilities ATAC generals wanted. After making an inquiry to the Confederation Technology Research Administration (CONTRA), the development of a new assault-class armor was sent to the construction facillities of Sol and Antares. The new powered armor was called the Warhawk, a bulky counterpart to the smaller Golem series that possessed significantly upgraded firepower capabilities in addition the ability to fly at sub-sonic speeds.

The Warhawk soon became the chosen platform of Airborne and Strike Infantry divisions, who relied on the Warhawk's flight capabilities to strike quickly behind enemy lines and its superior firepower to shellshock the enemy before they could organize an effective counterstrike. The Warhawk quickly rounded out the infantry capabilities of the ATAC and fit perfectly into the blitzkreig doctrines of the military.

WEAPON SYSTEMS (OPTIONAL)

    1. Phoenix Arms M55 Suit-Integrated Assault Rifle (SIAR): The main Confederate infantry weapon is the M55 suit-integrated assault rifle, a highly-dependable weapon that is built into the power armor itself. Stored in the right hip (or left, depending on the preference of the wearer), the SIAR fires 6mm rounds based on the cone bore operation principle, which allows it to fire 6mm rounds at speeds exceeding four kilometers per second without the usage of magnetic linear acceleration. The software of the SIAR allows it to fully be integrated into the SquadNet system and made the SIAR a valuable point-defense tool as well as a precision select fire option up to and including highly accurate single shots placed against softer targets of opportunity via the enabled sniper mode and targeting uplink. The software was modular, integrating itself easily into the OS of the battlesuits, and was designed for the end-user in mind, meaning that even the battlesuited trooper could work on his weapon and solve any software or hardware conflicts that might arise. With the servos / myomers of the battledress locked for recoil, the Colden M4C became a very stable weapon for precision long range fire and while not as devastating as the DIWS, it was also cheaper and easier to employ.
      • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Personnel
      • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Assault
      • RANGE: 3 kilometers
      • RATE OF FIRE: 3,500 rounds per minute.
      • PAYLOAD: 1000 rounds in a stacked helical cassette.
    2. Phoenix Arms G11 Explosive Disc Launchers (2): Integrated in the forearms of the armor, the G11 disc launchers fire 6cm hyveloc discs that are exceptionally effective against enemy personnel or light vehicles. Known to be the trademark of the Warhawk, these discs allow the Warhawk to lay down a tremendous line of firepower in a short period of time.
      • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault
      • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-Armor
      • RANGE: 3 kilometers
      • RATE OF FIRE: 100 rounds per minute
      • PAYLOAD: 500 discs per launcher
    3. Phoenix Arms DG-14 Canister Rifle: The DG-14 is a heavier weapons system used almost exclusively by assault troops. Firing scramjet-enhanced kinetic energy armor-penetrator exploding rounds (SEKEAPER) capable of ten klicks per second, the trajectory with SEKEAPER rounds was amazingly flat throughout their range and a SEKEAPER could dig a half meter deep crater in the Xintium hide of a Diamondback and set up sympathetic armor fractures which would be compounded by follow up rounds.
      • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Armor/Shield
      • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Assault
      • RANGE: 3.5 kilometers
      • RATE OF FIRE: 1,200 rounds per minute.
      • PAYLOAD: 780 rounds in a stacked helical cassette.
    4. Argus Millitech M54E Autocannon: The M54E 1.4cm is a high-speed rotary cannon with self-contained ammunition and power source. The weapon requires the trooper to use both hands while operating it, but it is a favorite of troopers in the squad support position. The integral helical ammunition drum holds 2000 rounds of saboted light armor-piercing ammunition. The 14mm round is a heavy round, designed to 'break' armor and as such is used to extensively against light vehicles and other power armor-equipped troopers. Its use on 'soft' targets is frowned upon, but nonetheless, it is used for these roles.
      • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Heavy Assault
      • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Assault
      • RANGE: 4 kilometers
      • RATE OF FIRE: 2000 rounds per minute.
      • PAYLOAD: 2000 rounds in a helical cassette.
    5. Phoenix Arms T6E 3.5cm Squad Support Weapons System (SSWS): Support at the squad level is provided by big, semi-portable T6E spread bore fluid to gas injected pseudorecoiless mass repeaters. The weapon is officially classified as a support weapon providing both area and support cover fire, but its additional ability to defeat even large mobile frames at close range is legendary. They are designed with two dedicated tactical microprocessors operating in tandem with the tactical onboard of the suit the weapon was assigned to, in turn coordinating T6E operation seamlessly into the whole of the SLICS system.
      • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Heavy Squad Support
      • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-Armor
      • RANGE: 5 kilometers
      • RATE OF FIRE: 600 rounds per minute.
