BACKGROUND

The Kairyu came into use during the first battles of the Second Draconian War as a standard assault series armor system. Designed to fight side-by-side the smaller Golem units, the Kairyu were used as outright counters to enemy armor units when the ATAC suffered a regional disadvantage in terms of armored power. The Kairyu performed well in this role, using their integral heavy anti-armor weapons to defeat enemy armor while Golem and Warhawk forces moved forward and countered enemy infantry forces. Because of its heavy payload, the Kairyu is far larger than its counterparts and is relatively slow.

WEAPON SYSTEMS (STANDARD)

    1. Phoenix Arms M88 1.5cm Suit-integrated Assault Rifle (SIAR): The main weapon of the Kairyu series is the 1.5cm SIAR, a heavier version of the weapons used in Golem and Warhawk armors. Firing heavy 1.5cm rounds, the weapon was designed to crack armor reliably using a combination of kinetic penetrators, explosive, and incendiary rounds that could provide a 'total kill' of any light and medium armored target. Against personnel targets, the weapon was considered 'overkill' but it sufficed for this purpose.

    2. Phoenix Arms DG-14 Canister Rifle: The DG-14 is a heavier weapons system used almost exclusively by assault troops. Firing scramjet-enhanced kinetic energy armor-penetrator exploding rounds (SEKEAPER) capable of ten klicks per second, the trajectory with SEKEAPER rounds was amazingly flat throughout their range and a SEKEAPER could dig a half meter deep crater in the Xintium hide of an Ocelot and set up sympathetic armor fractures which would be compounded by follow up rounds.

    3. Argus Millitech F-18 Disruptor Rifle: The F-18 Disruptor is known to be one of the most freightening weapons on the battlefield. Even feared by main battle tank crews, the disruptor fires particle energy phased in such a way that it actually breaks down the molecular cohesion of the target and disrupts enemy shields.

      • RATE OF FIRE: 500 shots per minute.
      • PAYLOAD: Energy pack that allows for 1,500 shots before replacement.
    4. Phoenix Arms P53 Light Plasma Cannon: Designed as the Kairyu's 'heavy weapon', the P53 light plasma cannon fires self-contained plasma discs at enemy targets. On impact, the kinetic energy of the plasma bolt is disrupted into a massive explosion, covering several meters. The extremely high temperature of the plasma bolt means that it can pass through thick armour, and is also capable of super-heating the fluids of a living body to such temperature as to cause the skin and flesh to be ripped apart in the resulting steam explosion. On reaching their target, plasma bolts can explode into fireballs dealing damage to everyone within the blast radius.
